The cd is called “Eliane Elias Plays Live” . It was recorded on May 31st 2002 and it is an all instrumental trio recording, featuring Eliane on piano, Marc Johnson on bass and Joey Baron on drums. The cd will be released in various other territories later in 2010.

Her new cd “SOMETHING FOR YOU: ELIANE ELIAS SINGS AND PLAYS BILL EVANS” is a tribute to the artistry of piano legend Bill Evans. The cd contains newly discovered Evans’ works never before recorded.

“Something for You” received the “Best Vocal Album of the Year” Award for 2007 in Japan ( Swing Journal )
This is the 3rd consecutive recording that Eliane receives this award and her 4th all together !
Received the Gold Disc Award 2007 ( Japan )
Nominated by the Brazilian Grammys (20th Premio da Musica Brasileira, 2009) for Best Foreign Album

Bossa Nova stories was released in the USA in January 2009. In it’s opening week, Bossa Nova Stories was the #2 album in sales in both Overall and Traditional Jazz Charts, Billboard Magazine, USA. It reached #1 on itunes Top Jazz Albums, #2 on itunes Top Latin Albums, #4 on Jazz Radio Airplay and it’s receiving glowing reviews. In July 2008, it debuted at #1 on the French Charts and remained #1 for three consecutive weeks. It’s was also the #1 Best Selling Jazz Vocal Album in Japan, May-June 2008 (Swing Journal). This is Eliane’s second release within one year. Bossa Nova Stories was preceeded by “Something for You, Eliane Elias Sings and Plays Bill Evans”. A very productive year !

Bossa Nova Stories is a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Bossa Nova and features Eliane’s vocals accompanied by a stellar rhythm section and orchestra.

Eliane performs some of the great Bossa Nova classics and songs from the American songbook.

EMI Japan recently released an all instrumental live trio recording (with Marc Johnson and Joey Baron) It is the first time I release a live cd ….. The cd is called “Eliane Elias Plays Live” …. recorded live in Amsterdam.
 “Bossa Nova Stories” was released in the USA on January 13th !
I am also excited for my daughter, Amanda Brecker whose second cd, “Brazilian Passion”, was released on BIRDS Records in the summer of 2009. It features some great originals and covers… and great singing and grooves. Brazilian Passion received the “Gold Disc Award” by Swing Journal, June 2009.
Amanda’s debut cd “Here I Am” received the Gold Disc Award in Japan and it was the #1 Jazz Vocal cd is sales in Japan in July-August 2008. Amanda won the following awards in Japan: “Best New Talent Award 2008″ by Swing Journal, “New Star International Prize” by ADLIB Awards 2008, and “2008 New Star Award” by Swing Journal, Japan.
